The mission
Everyone summits.
Whatever your
limitation is.
My own estimate, from this trail rather than from anything published, is that roughly half the people who attempt Toubkal do not make it on their first try — and it is usually not fitness. It is a group that never got synchronised: one person setting a pace nobody else chose, a schedule that has to be kept, and a summit that quietly becomes somebody else’s.
I know because I was one of them — my first attempt was a December winter ascent and I turned back short. Two months later I summited, and the only thing that had changed was preparation. You should not need two attempts to learn that. It is also why I stopped selling the two-day version. Your pace, your limitation, our margin.

- ~HALF
- My own estimate rather than a published figure: about half the people who attempt Toubkal do not summit on a first try — and what I have watched stop them is mismatched groups and two-day schedules, not the mountain.
- 1:4
- Guide to walker on summit morning, so the group can split by pace instead of stretching into a queue.
- 3 DAYS
- Not two. We meet Friday and sleep at 1,900 m in Aremd, so the body has a night to start adjusting before the climb.
- MIXED
- Visitors and Moroccan climbers in one group. Locals climb at the weekend — the same weekend we run — and everywhere else the two walk in separate parties.
- 04:30
- Start time set early on purpose — a head start is what turns “too slow” into “in good time”.
